One-way valves

For raccoons, squirrels and bats in an attic, a one-way valve over the entry point lets the animals leave but not return. It is a humane way to evict them without harm.
Once they are out, every entry point is sealed so neither they nor other wildlife can come back. Raccoons in particular can squeeze through surprisingly small gaps for their size, so sealing every known entry point is the key to keeping them out.
